Advanced / $20 DOS. Address: 1530 South Disneyland Drive Anaheim,

In
1974 when Bob Marley went solo, on the brink of international stardom,
he surprised the music community by choosing as his lead guitarist
the soft spoken, American-born Al Anderson. It was Anderson’s stunning
lead work on such classics as No Woman, No Cry, Dem Belly Full and
Curfew (Three O’ Clock Road Block) that first alerted rock fans
to the Wailers’ music. Over a billion dollars worth of Marley’s
music featuring Al Anderson’s evocative guitar work has been sold
worldwide. Al has also played with the legendary Peter Tosh, James
Brown, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Inner
Circle, Traffic and Ben Harper.
Junior
Marvin joined Marley as singer/guitarist during the sessions for
Exodus and Kaya albums, shortly before the band’s legendary appearance
at London’s Rainbow Theatre in ’77. Junior has also to his credit
worked with Ike & Tina Turner, Steve Winwood, Linda Lewis, T-Bone
Walker, Billy Preston, Chris Wood in both the US and UK. In 2011,
Junior Marvin departed the group.
Al Anderson is the sole original member of the Wailer's classic
line-up in The Original Wailers. The reformed configuration includes
Desi Hyson (Vocals/Keyboards), Steve Samuels (Bass Guitar), Paapa
Nyarkoh (Drums) and Marty Batista (Keyboards and Organ) that carry
forward the true spirit and realities of the original music and
the message of “One Love”.

New
CD "Better Things" by Headshine hits iTunes |
| |
Mixing
acoustic coastal-rock and a feel-good vibe, HEADSHINE
takes you on a free spirited ride up the coast with a soundtrack
of life, love and the space between. In spring 2009, a song that
RAS wrote, sang and played on acoustic guitar caught the ear of
major label producer Jim Perkins (Big B, Scott Russo, Chali Tuna,
OPM, Pato Banton). Jim showed the one-take demo to his business
partner Andrew Nast along with some other close friends in the
music industry. For some reason, they wanted to hear more.
With
a fresh California sound and songs about living life to the fullest,
this emerging artist from Huntington Beach is now earning the
love and support of fans from a 30 city Fall and Summer west coast
tour. HEADSHINE has performed at Idaho State University, San Diego
State University, Cal State University Long Beach and Whitworth
University in Spokane Washington, and after recently opening for
the national rock band Lit, England's renown English Beat, and
Jamaican reggae legend Prezident Brown, better things are coming
and the future looks bright. HEADSHINE
is now booking more US tour dates and the
new CD "BETTER THINGS" is now available on iTunes.

Performer
Magazine Reviews New CD "Better Things" by Headshine |
| |
"“Lead-singer
and songwriter, RAS, more or less coined the term for his band.
“Headshine” represents a good vibe when things automatically click
and the moment is just right. It’s like catching the perfect wave
- the feeling of being in-sync with yourself and the elements.
This
synchronizing of sound and style is felt throughout the EP. RAS
sings like an artist who has been through a lot and is only beginning
to bare all. The Huntington Beach singer/songwriter has cultivated
a surfer/acoustic sound with a touch of reggae and California sunshine.
In
“Better Things,” the first track off Headshine’s EP, the message
is straightforward and light. RAS sings in his charismatic voice,
“Better things are coming my way/Never giving up/The best is yet
to come.” While “Better Things” might have a touch of premonition
to its lyrics, “One Spark” and “Devil in my Bed” are in tune with
a more Latin-feel. “Devil in my Bed,” with a hint of Ricky Martin-suavity,
is a fun and sexy song to listen to.
It
has to be stated here: RAS’s song-writing is simple yet the final
product is movingly so. His talent lies in his ability to craft
life, love, and all the spaces in-between into his lyrics. His voice
provides many textures to the music tapestry, so that there is not
one word that fully encompasses his style. With the backing of major-label
producer, Jim Perkins and with the premiere of his first single
“Better Things” on San Diego’s 91X, things are definitely looking
up for the singer/songwriter. RAS knew what he was talking about
when he sang “the best is yet to come.” -Performer Magazine, writer:

"Ecologically
means above all respect for the environment. There has been a thought
for a while to establish a partnership between business and design
to research a different way of living that is not only more natural
but also pays attention to environmental resources. On one side you
have designers experimenting with unusual materials that are recyclable
and on the other side you have the business committed to saving energy
and developing production methods that exclude toxic or pollutant
materials. This is a testimonial that design can be more ecological."

Planet
Squared... "Furniture for the Future" |
| |
Planet
Squared promoted a nationwide contest that challenged our customers
to create an original artwork based on the question: Why is Planet
Squared "Furniture for the Future?". The best entry would have
their name and artwork published in Planet Squared
eNews and would also be given their choice of winning one of
our Resourceful Living Arrangements™
including delivery to their front door for free! Well... we're proud
to say that all of the entries we received were very inspiring and
would like to thank and congratulate all that entered! The 2001'
Grand Prize Winner of Planet Squared's Ecological Extravaganza who
answered the question correctly is: William Forester of Los Angeles,
California, USA! William won his choice of a "Ju-el" delivered
to his home for free as well as having his artwork featured here.
To
find out a little more about him... we asked William to share with
us what inspired his work. Mr. Forester, a 28-year-old avid artist
and surfer told us he's tired of paddling out in polluted water
and getting sick. "Instead of accepting it... I've directed
my angst towards ignorant, selfish humans who continue to destroy
our planets fragile ecosystem. Though it's sad to see people live
their entire life completely oblivious, I feel my artwork helps
some to understand that planet Earth is a precious gift to share
not a commodity to horde. To grow up watching countries exhaust
our planets resources, pollute the environment then, fight over
who owns a piece of it is pathetic and deplorable. Planet Squared
shows us we can live in harmony. Long live those squared to the
P." The artwork shown here incorporates a view of planet Earth
taken by the orbiting spacecraft Clementine.
